A: Yes. As a child of a Filipino mom there definitely is a difference. Sometimes she’d mistake he and she and his and her when talking about someone. There’s also the fact that most Filipinos pronounce their p’s as f’s and their f’s as p’s. Also Filipinos like using a bunch of random mix of words to express they are mad. For example when my mom got mad because I’d spilt water she would say stuff like sugisna which has no meaning or pokitmo. I don’t know why they do it they just do. They also like say ah and huh a lot too.

The reason why they mostly became English teachers is because the Philippines was once under the American rule for about a year and because of this they had to use English. A lot of them , like my mom’s family, moved to America during grade school. And in most Filipino schools they teach in English.
