日本語として成り立っていないように思います I think this sentence doesn't make sense in Japanese.

横たえる is a transitive verb, which means to lay. 横たわる is an intransitive verb, so which means to lie. 横になる means 横たわる or "rest and sleep". And 横たわる sounds more formal and literary than 横になる. So I have almost never used 横たわる in daily conversation.
