Q: How do you say this in English (US)? Does this expression sound natural?
A: Hello everyone.
Today I’m going to present my opinion on why people fall in love.
I agree with the theory by Helen Fisher.
People are exposed to a high release of dopamine when they are excited and on a high.
I think that people fall in love because they are seeking comfort from the release of chemicals.
Similar to the “Turibashi-couka” (The suspension bridge effect) in which the brain misappropriates feelings as to falling in love when spending time with someone after a stimulus.

Q: Does the habit of saying too much "like" annoy native speakers? I've unfortunately developed that habit while learning to speak.

If so, what can I do to avoid or at least reduce that habit?
A: Ah yes. The classic issue. I had the same problem just of of high school sadly. I’m native and it was the era.

For example, like, you wouldn’t even, like, believe how often it was, like, said.

The main problem is that it adds pauses in sentences that don’t need it. It can make the speaker sound uneducated.

Anyway, yes, most people find it annoying. The only reason I stopped is someone pointed it out. I wasn’t even aware I was doing it. The cure is pure activism. You much actively notice and stop yourself. Correct yourself constantly, even if it’s out loud. The embarrassment of having to keep repeating yourself to stop makes the issue go away quickly.
