Example sentences using "Gerunds"

Q: Please show me example sentences with Gerunds and infinitive.
A: I like to read I like reading (me gusta leer) Unlike Spanish, these both sound perfectly fine and are very common. The second version is just a little less formal and more common. I read. I am reading. Unlike Spanish these have very different meanings. The first means that I read in general but I am not necessarily reading at this moment. It would NOT be a proper answer to the question "what are you doing?", but the second version would be. Espero que tenga sentido!

Q: Gerunds are the ing verbs and we usually use them to talk about daily routines or something that happened in the past does this sound natural?
A: The sentence sounds OK and your examples are valid but I would say the canonical use is to talk about what you are doing right now. "Daily routines" is generally present simple. This is a major difference between English and Spanish. I read books = I generally read a lot of books, but probably not RIGHT NOW. I am reading a book = I am reading a book RIGHT NOW
