The meaning of "Outhouse" in various phrases and sentences
Q:
What does outhouse mean?
A:
Long ago and far away, people did not have indoor plumbing. So the toilet was a bid, deep hole with a very very small wooden shed built over the hole. And this was always away from the living quarters ( because of the smell). So to go to the toilet, you had to go OUT of the main HOUSE. And because it was OUTSIDE of the main HOUSE, they called it an outhouse.
