Synonyms of "Capricious" and their differences

Q: What is the difference between capricious and fickle and quicksilver ?
A: Actually they are all synonyms, so they mean the same thing. I have never heard anyone use capricious or quicksilver before. To explain a person who changes frequently as in mood, loyalties, interests, or affection you should use fickle or flakey. Even though flakey is a slang term I hear people use all the time for example: “That was so flakey for her to not come with you to prom.” With fickle you could say “she’s so fickle with her decisions, can never make her mind up’’
I don’t know if I’m spelling flakey right it might be spelled flaky.
Q: What is the difference between capricious and fickle ?
A: As adjectives the difference between capricious and fickle is that capricious is impulsive and unpredictable; determined by chance, impulse, or whim while fickle is quick to change one’s opinion or allegiance; insincere; not loyal or reliable.

As a verb fickle is to deceive; flatter.
Q: What is the difference between capricious and petulant and wilful ?
A: They are generally interchangeable, but have different tones.

Capricious is carefree and wild. "The capricious wind bent trees and tore hats from heads"

Petulant is childish and unreasonable. "The petulant child stamped her foot and screamed."

Willful is knowingly contrary. "He gave a willful glare, and they knew he would never be convinced."
