Q:
I have a 14-year-old dachshund. Considering that the average life span of this breed is 13 to 16 years, she is quite old. I adopted her from a shelter 8 years ago. She must have had a hard time before being rescued, and I just wanted to give her a place where she could feel safe and relaxed. She didn’t bark, didn’t do any mischievous things, and even didn’t know how to play with a ball. I could tell how harsh the environment she grew up in was. I’ve read somewhere that dogs’ memories last for only a few years. I strongly hope that all of her sad memories have completely been replaced by happy memories now.
I feel she is certainly getting old. She used to enjoy taking a walk, but now she prefers to stay home. All of these changes make me feel like crying. When I see her sleeping peacefully by my side, I can’t help asking myself whether I’ve been fully living up to her trust toward me and doing my best to make her happy, or if there wasn’t anything else I could do.
I’m not yet ready for her passing away in the near future. I don’t even want to face the fact, though it’s inevitable. When the time comes, I’m not sure if I can get over. There’s not much time left. I’m always wondering what I can do to make her even happier in her last stage of life. Maybe all I can do is to treasure this time with her now. Does this sound natural?

Q:
Please show me how to pronounce I like miniature dachshunds the best..
A:
The pronunciation of "miniature" will vary depending on accents. From what I know "mi-nee-uh-chr" is the standard American English way of pronouncing it, but I generally pronounce it how it's pronounced in British English, which is "mi-nuh-chr" or "mi-nuh-chuh."
