When I use 異世界, it means the place I don't belong to, and maybe I feel "this place is a little weird" or I'm just surprised at it.
For example, まるで異世界に来たみたい。
(I have never seen this world/place !)
When I use 別世界, maybe it implies somewhere I feel comfortable in.
But both are almost the same meaning. It depends on the situation or the context :)
