Garba is very popular in many states...
But specially in West Bengal its grand celebration there is different pandals in every corner of the city... Food, lights, n songs on loud speakers....
Durga puja we celebrate it from the shasti to dashera...
I think in nepal n west bengal celebrates the same way.....
Here in Maharashtra its different we have navdurga... Most my frnds fast during navratri.. Some of them dont were shoes for nine days... :)

@ChronicProcrastinato: I don't agree with you. don't you see that date on hindu panchanga ? it is tenth day of the month ashvin that's it. Though it is the day ravan was killed, thats nothing to do with its name. By the way dashanan means ten headed, not defeat in sanskrit. dashanan ravan is ten headed ravan
