@Nanho: ‘kind‘ is about half way between sort and type, it's usually referring to large categories or families of things that are naturally related. for example: "what kind of dog is that?"

"what is your blood type?" type is used when the expected answer is a precise named category.
"what sort of prices do they charge?" sort is used when the expected answer is a description rather than a named category.
