Question about English (US)

What is the difference between "My nephew feels close to my heart" and "I feel like my nephew is close to my heart"?
Feel free to just provide example sentences.

Do these mean the same basically?

I thought the second one is only correct answer, but I saw the first one in the English book. So I'm confused right now.

Could you help me by answering this?

I expect both of them are correct but not sure.

What I intended to say was "My nephew is so precious to me".
