Question about English (US)

Sodium (Na) - Alkaline metal inflammable in water
Sodium is an element we eat everyday, being contained in sodium chloride or salt.
Pure sodium is a silver-colored metal, so extremely easy to be oxidized that it reacts vigorously even on touch with hydrogen oxide or water.
Needless to say, oxygen in air oxidize sodium, preservation of which requires keeping it in oil, away from both air and water.
does this sound natural?

The original sentence is as below:

I would appreciate if you correct or rephrase my translation, howeve minor the mistake or unnaturality may be. Thank you in advance.
