As well as the others guys say, in Spanish “How are you?” change in plural, and instead of say ¿Cómo estás?, you must say: ¿Cómo están?. Ok it’s correct to say “soy de Estados Unidos” but in this case I prefer to say the nationality “soy americano” or “soy norteamericano”.
The only mistake there is CÓMO ESTÀS, since if you to speak in plural, that is to say to several people, it should be: CÓMO ESTÀN, the other is only for singular somethings or people. I hope it is help.
