How do you say this in Japanese? the temperature this morning was low

今朝は熱が低かった。
is it ok? can I say HIKUI talking about the temperature? or should I use verb 下がる?

and how would you say "I used to like hot tea "?
私は今まで熱い茶が好きだった?
