To lay something out means to describe or explain something so that it is clear. When Keegan-Michael Key says “Then I laid it out” at 0:50, the “it” he is referring to is him explaining to his wife the fact that they were supposed to be in the car by 6:45 when she was just getting out of the shower at 7:15.
