Aight lemme shorten it for you so
Before the Roman Empire two millennials ago there were the Celts who were uncivilized people. Then the Republic of Rome (Later the empire) drove them to Ireland and top of Scotland so then we chill as pagans.
200 AD: Then we became Catholic introduced by St Patrick, had monasteries and stuff.
800AD: Vikings from Scandinavia come to Ireland and raided our monasteries then settled in Dublin Wexford and Waterford. At this time other Vikings settled in Normandy France so they be the Normans now.
1000’s: Vacant English throne, your man, William the Conquer leading the Normans takes the throne of England at the battle of Hastings.
1169: Ireland at this time was in five provinces each with their own king. North is Ulster, south is Munster, west is Connacht, east is Leinster and top of Leinster beneath Ulster is Meath where the High King resides. The four kings be fighting all the time and this one guy King Diarmaid of Leinster gets stripped of Leinster by high king gets angry and goes to King Henry II in England and asks for help who then allows him to recruit Normans in Wales. So he recruited your man Richard Strong Bow they invade Ireland with his sophisticated army take over Leinster and the Irish pushed west. So Normans be mostly in control of Ireland. King Henry be like nah so he go to Ireland and take it over and calls himself King of Ireland and Great Britain.
This then marks the beginning of English rule, rebellions, more Tudor shit, plantations, Protestantism, Northern Ireland and Ireland, more uprisings, the 1916 Easter rising, the beginning of the use of guerrilla warfare terrorism in the War of Independence, a kind of free country but divided, the IRA, we get our parliament and now
