Question about Japanese

In what way do you use the conditionals なら(ば) and ば? I understand the なら is a contextual conditional but it's very confusing to me.... I with something like this

誰でも助ければ、良くておく。that's supposed to say "if anyone can help, that will be good"

As you can see, I'm also not sure as to how to use ている、てある or ておく.... I know that ている translates into the gerund form in English most of the time. It's very confusing wen it comes to using to with motion verbs....
