I am becoming more and more interested in AAA as I study the subject, but it is also true that I am very interested in BBB. Does this sound natural?

Both you and Gakuse are correct. If you really want to make a point that you are really interested in BBB then keep it your original way, but if it’s just “I’m doing aaa and bbb” then use Gakuse method. Both are ok. English is a language of feeling. That gets us in trouble in chat sessions, because the inflection of your voice can direct whether you are serious, joking, or just being sarcastic.
