Practice and get exposure to it. Don't be afraid to make a mistake. Even native speakers can get really bad at this language.

What's worked for me in other languages is to:
1) find the "fun" as soon as possible, so motivation stays high
2) maximum exposure to real, native content. (See antimoon.com for a good explanation of this)
