Question about English (US)

Hi everyone,
In the song of Ghoultown "Drink With The Living Dead" there is a phrase: "draw against his hand". By the context, I understand that it means kind of "don't argue with him\ do what he said" (because of bad consequences). But I'd like to figure out it in more detail. Is it an idiom? Does it have a literal explanation? Any thoughts.
if my question sounds unnatural or just sucks (in English), plz fix it.
