you already have answers but one thing to know is that there’s a very big difference in the word in terms of dialect, bc أستطيع is more MSA rather than dialectal speak afaik? and i don’t know if you’re planning on learning a specific dialect within your studies already but! info for the future
i’m not an expert on all dialects obviously, but within my dialect at least the word would be “agdar (أقدر)” meaning “i can” which form you can change to refer to different things or people. and, from what i’ve noticed, dialects like the shami ones would cut off the g/qaf and make it a’dar
