Question about English (US)

Back in 1962, the then two superpowers of the world - the United States and the Soviet Union - stood on the brink of a nuclear war for 14 days. Then suddenly, he winked to one of his aids, grinned and said, "Looks like I've been doing my money's worth's job this week." So goes his episode. does this sound natural?
