Question about Japanese
「先生にお届けしました」I think this translates as "I sent it to the teacher", but could it also be interpreted as "I ’would’ sent it to the teacher (eg. if I'd seen it earlier)"? ありがとうございます!😊

(「先生に」は「先生の研究室/研究所に」であると仮定してみます。)
「先生にお届けしました(depending on the context)」:
I took it to my teacher's lab.
I have taken it to my teacher's lab.
I delivered it to my teacher's lab.
I have delivered it to my teacher's lab.
I sent it to my teacher's lab.
I sent it to my teacher's lab by post.
I have sent it to my teacher's lab.
I have sent it to my teacher's lab by post.
I arranged to send it to my teacher's lab.
I have arranged to send it to my teacher's lab.
I arranged to send it by post to my teacher's lab.
I have arranged to send it by post to my teacher's lab.
etc.

お届けしました includes a sense of "delivered it" , so it should be like お送りしました, meaning "sent it."

@lli3 Wow, thank you so much for your time!! I was hesitant to talk about the context at first, because it just revolves around a social media post I happened to run into and got curious about.
A Japanese acquaintance of mine, posted a photo of an important-looking(??) schoolbook that was thrown on the ground, stepped on etc. And in the photo caption she appeared to be annoyed about the situation. However, I know for a fact that this photo was not hers, but one that already existed elsewhere online. And then, at another person's comment about how he could never do something like that, she replied 「先生にお届けしました」.
I was wondering if the girl is lying about finding the book and taking it to her teacher, or if she's just saying she WOULD do so, in an imaginary case she was the one finding it.
I am sorry if this sounds confusing and/or unnecessary. I also apologise in case my English was not worded correctly. And again, thank you so much for explaining to me either way!!!
