Di sana means 'place' and terdapat means 'something that the place got' :D For example :
1. Di sana = Saya membeli roti ini di sana [Toko Roti Amy]. ( I bought this bread over there. [ You can change the "Amy Bakery" with 'there' ! It's very useful in case if you forgot/unsure about the name of the place! ] )
2. Terdapat = Di perpustakaan terdapat banyak buku sejarah. ( There are many history books in this library. [ 'There' here means something that the library got (in this case is history books). ] )
3. Di sana + Terdapat = Terdapat sebuah taman di sana. ( There is a park over there. [ The first 'there' is for 'terdapat' and the last one is for 'di sana' . ]
>> If you want to point at a further place, use 'di sana' (near place would be 'di sini' <here>)
>> If you want to state something that the place got, use 'terdapat'
I really hope it's understandable! >< ( and I'm terribly sorry if my English is not very good )
