You won’t have any problems in Germany being a foreigner. Some elderly people might have problems with English though, so it might help to learn a little bit German if you go to more rural areas. In bigger cities, you should be fine.

And unfortunately some people are not friendly to foreign/“other” people... but I think it is this way in every country.
But overall the Germans are nice, polite, friendly people. And in “bigger” cities you won’t really have a problem I think.
