多数中国人在见到外国人身上的汉字纹身时，并不会把这些汉字的含义与纹身的人联系起来。因为大多数外国人身上的汉语纹身其实是无意义的。这也使得多数中国人认为纹身的外国人并不理解纹身内容的真实含义。
