they are both similar.
my fault and shame on me are reflecting actions that you have done wrong. you are admitting that you are in wrong.
1. my fault = admitting you are in the wrong
2. shame on me = you are scolding yourself because you did something wrong.
3. i was wrong = you are kinda apologising for your actions
