I walked by the park --> Paseé por el parque.
I walked through the park --> Paseé por el parque.
I walked throughout the park --> Paseé por todo el parque.
In all the cases, we use the preposition "por" always with verbs like "walk, run, search..." and all those that naturally use "by" in English.
"Through" is "a través de" and "Throughout = All through" is "a través de todo / por todo", but we don't usually say "paseé a través del parque", the most natural way is using "por".

Ok, in everyday Spanish at least is the same.
Yo ando por el parque.
If you want to say I walked trough the park to go home sería “yo atravesé el parque para ir a casa” atravesar “walk though one part to another one”
