Does it sound too ill-mannered to use "dope" as "very good", "awesome", etc? Or is it common to use it in unpolite speech?

dope is considered slang so i wouldn’t say it’s “ill-mannered” but it’s used in informal conversations

it’s not impolite it’s just very very informal ... it’s also slightly less common now that it was 10 or 20 years ago
