@carloscelu There are technical grammar rules for using those two phrases, but most people wonât know them. If youâre speaking casually, they are the same, so it doesnât matter.

@carloscelu there are a few rules but Iâd say the most important ones are:
1) When used with a noun, âmostâ means quantity, while âthe mostâ refers to more/less.
2) The most is used to make superlatives of longer adjectives/adverbs. When used with a verb, the most = adverb.

Oh, and most can also be used as a pronoun sometimes: âAll the women waited in line; most were blonde.â Although, personally, I donât find using most as a pronoun very natural. Iâd just say âAll the women waited in line; most of them were blonde.â
