"Explore" literally means to discover a new place. When Europeans first came to Japan, they were "exploring" because they had never been there. It can be used figuratively in situations like this to imply that there are options for someone they have never considered.
To search or investigate is usually something done with a goal in mind. I will search for a lost item, we have search teams for missing persons. Police investigate crimes and incidents to discover what happened. You cannot, however, "explore" for your lost phone. You would search for it.
Sometimes the concepts can mix, but usually it is because you may be exploring and searching at the same time. Spanish conquistadors explored much of South America while searching for the legendary city of El Dorado.

Search for - look for, but does not necessarily imply that any information was gained or other action taken
Ex. I searched for jobs on Google (but may not have read the descriptions for or applied for any.)
Investigate - get information on
Ex. I investigate some programming jobs online. (I read about some open positions, but didn't apply for any.)
Explore - get information on and may also have physically experienced
Ex. I explored jobs in the programming industry. (I worked several different jobs in the industry to experience what it's like.)
