重苦しいほどの環境下では、会議で自由に発言することは神経に障るようだ。上司たちに忖度が厳しく求められているので、皆は自分の主張を細かいところまで神経が行き届いているらしい。会議の際には決着をつけるまでの時間がかかり過ぎるわけであろう。

(英原文: Under such a stifling environment, speaking out freely during meetings seem nerve-wracking. Since the higher-ups expect strict adherence to their standards, it seems everyone is always paying close attention to the details of their own opinions/arguments. Probably that’s why it’s very time-consuming to reach a final decision during meetings.)
