What does I was watching this video on YT and I was wondering what ~と思います means,because I thought it meant “I think” but in this video the translation doesn’t say that. I want to know is the translation just wrong or what is the meaning of that phrase🧐? mean?

The translation is not wrong. “Be going to do” corresponds to 〜してみたいと思います or 〜しようと思います, which means the speaker’s will. 🙂

@iamaimo Oh! So when ~と思います is combined with a future action it changes its meaning 🤔?

I think you’re right. 〜しようと思う means “I’m going to do.”
If the following two sentences have the similar meaning, 〜しようと思う can be translated into 2, the meaning of which is similar to 1. 🙂
1. I’m going to do the gardening on Sunday.
2. I think I’ll do the gardening on Sunday.
