They actually are the same and in these two examples they are interchangeable but still as you can see there is some cases in which one sounds better than the other. Also, "me neither" as far as I've (over)heard it's used more often in quiet situations, friendly discussions and so on. "Neither do I" may be used more in formal situations or when there is some arguing.
