Sometimes are slang can be a bit different. Sometimes depending on the mix of people that are over there. Our accents tends to be a bit harsh and a mixed with boston accent (in rhode island). Overly pronouncing certain words and things like that. In California it depends on the type of class you are. Lower class usually has like a ghetto cali-mex accent. Upper class has mostly the “like, OMG, and the totally” it just mainly depends on that.
