I don't think very many people in America drink plain hot water. Cold or room temperature (around 22C) water yes, but hot or warm no.

Coffee and tea I drink hot. Cold drinks I don't usually put ice in, unless its at a restaurant where that's how it comes.

No, no hot water. Sometimes warm water with honey and lemon if you're sick. We're big fans of ice, though personally I go without at home.

Americans love their cold drinks! I tend to prefer just below room temperature drinks. The only way we drink hot water is with coffee, tea, or cocoa.
