Question about English (US)

Some farmers today fence their vegetable fields with electrified wires to prevent wild animals' scavenging. Last weekend, a boy accidentally touched one such wire, got electrocuted and tumbled into the nearby stream, holding the wire in his hand. Some adults rushed to save him. As soon as they stepped into the water, they too were electrocuted. Two of them died. It was later revealed that the voltage had been raised from the normal 100v to 400v, and a necessary breaker, which should have cut off the current when the accident occurred, had not been installed. Does this sound natural?
