If you want to say Is this book useful to you?
이 책이(this book) 유용하셨나요?or유용하셨습니까?(useful to you?) or도움이 되셨나요?(helpful to you?)
past tense sounds more polite.
'유용해요?' feels you're senior and me junior. (it's subtle) and someone possibly think a bit rude.
If you want present sentense, you can use '유용한가요?'
If i were you, I would say '이 책이 도움이 되셨나요?'
Hope you helpful.
