@Edgar93 Tamten suggests an object further away from you, ten suggests something closer. It doesn't have to be literal, can be metaphoricaly.
1. Tamten film (np. the one we talked about earlier) jest gorszy niż ten (np the one we're watching now).
2. Ten film jest gorszy niż ten - this only makes sense if you're pointing at something. (ten film - points at one movie poster - jest gorszy niż ten - points at other poster).
