Which prefectures/cities in Japan are well known in the US? And, what are they known for?

i don't really know anything about the areas but i'm familiar with Nagasaki and Hiroshima because of the bombs, and Tokyo is very cool and busy. the US is also doing a lot of harm to Okinawa. and maybe i know some more places because of the natural disasters that happened there but i don't quite remember. i hear about lots of famous places but i don't know where they are in Japan.

Probably Osaka and the Osaka tower, and Tokyo, the capital. Maybe Fukushima with the nuclear accident. Definitely, Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
