I guess you meant to say, "붙이다" and "붙다", which translates to "to stick (something onto something)" and "to stick (oneself to), to get admitted into/accepted to" respectively.
The former is a transitive verb that requires a direct object, since you are sticking "something" onto something else: for example, "나는 스티커를 책상에 붙인다" (I put a sticker on the desk).
The latter, the subject in question is sticking him/her/itself onto something. It is commonly used when saying "getting admitted into a school/landing a job, etc.).
