Question about English (US)

What is the difference between Pablo denied having taken the money and Pablo denied that he had taken the money. ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.

^ I know that the first one is correct but I'm wondering if the second is fine too. Also want to know if there's a significant difference between them. Thanks in advance!
