I studied Japanese for 2 years in 2011-2013. I forgot a lot but I'm trying to refresh my memory! My family knows no Japanese at all so I suppose I will be doing most of the talking. My Japanese is at beginner/intermediate level. I suppose somewhere around N3 would be accurate.
My brother in law has Down syndrome, so he is a very picky eater. I expect this will be a challenge when ordering food so I'm looking for ways to ask for food with few/no spices, other than 「彼は辛いものが全然好きじゃないです」
Example sentences would be most appreciated!

when you order his food, you should ask the staffs whether it is spicy or not
so, pointing to some food you say これは辛いですか? if the staff say yes, you should avoid to have it. if not, it will be ok for your brother

He can't eat spicy food.
Which dish is not spicy?
Typical spicy seasonings in Japan are 「わさび(wasabi)」, 「とうがらし (Red pepper)」 and「からし( mustard)」.
If you are going to eat Japanese food, you should ask not to use these seasonings.
For example,
When at sushi restaurant, you say, 「 .
When ordering a hamburger at McDonald's, you say,「
