Question about English (US)
How do you say this in English (US)? "Is this the very picture you drew(have drawn?)?"
when u r looking at a picture and wonder if it is your friend's work, can I say like the sentence above?
or "Have you really drawn this picture?"
Does it sound better?

@skyh1236 Don’t say the first one!! You can say stuff like: “this is the very building the Mona Lisa was drawn in”, but you don’t use that type of phrasing with something the person you’re currently talking to. It sounds more serious and important, almost to the point of being silly. For the second, “Did you really draw this picture?” sounds more natural. Normally you’d say a compliment afterwards to show that you’re joking. (Unless you’re actually not sure) Hope this helps!!

The 2nd one is better. I can also suggest a better phrase:
Did you really draw this picture?
That would be the best way to say it.
