Question about Germany

As I heard a lot of german audios, in tests, and more, most of the time they ignore the -en ending, especially in many verbs. For example: werden, bekommen, lesen, usw, . I really wonder, when the german say that casually everyday, does they really understand each other's words well ('cause the verbs aren't fully pronounced) . And as a german lerner, should i also ignore the -en ending in oral exam, or when i pronounce?
Sorry for my bad english
Please feel free to explain to me!
Thank you
