Question about English (US)

Can someone explain me that? Because I dont understand that sentence.
I found that sentence in my grammar book but I dont understand.

The sentence is:

We don't have rain everyday. We had rain two days ago, but we didn't have rain yesterday.

Well I will use a calendar, then
(1) Today is Friday 29th.
(2) They had rain two days ago: So rains on May 27 and 28th.
(3) BUT they didn't have rain yesterday. : It wasn't rain on May 28th

How is that possible?

Sincerely thanks for your help.
