Do German textbooks or apps(Duolingo, Lingodeer, etc) teach anything wrong or weird that should be avoided?

I don't know about apps, but since they generally focus on many languages you can assume that they contain severe mistakes on a regular basis.
If you buy a proper textbook, I'd assume that they are mostly accurate, and if they are recent they will most likely not contain weird expressions or outdated grammar (in my experience).
