Pale faced sound a little odd to me, like something you would hear in an old western.
If you are telling this to someone, I'd say
The women in the village were looking at each other and their faces were white. They were paralyzed with fear!
If you are writing, I would write
And the women in the village looked at each other in fear, their faces pale. They were paralyzed in fear.
