Question about English (US)

Would you kindly tell me what is the American English speaker’s definition of “Graphic novel”, “Comic book”, “Cartoon” and “Manga”?
I am reading “hunter x hunter-Graphic novel English edition” in kindle and I wondered if I referred to the book as “Comic” or “Manga”, does people get what I am talking about or imagine something else.

“hunter x hunter“ is a long adventure like dragon ball but a little darker for children and mature readers doesn’t contain too much funny story or political satire and I am reading the original book(200 pages per each volume). It is not a motion movie.
