Question about English (US)

What is the difference between lions have huge fangs & and a lion have huge fangs & the lion have huge fangs ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.

I've seen all of them used as a generic term for "lion". is there any rule when not to use any of them? and why "the lion is" and not "the banana is" to talk in general?
